UK PDT Charitable Trust
N.B: PDT is an abbreviation for Photodynamic Therapy.
This Trust deed is made on March 18th 2009
Between: E Allan, R Boyle, S Eljamel, C Hopper, K Moghissi and H Moseley
Hereinafter called the Founder Trustees.
1: The Founder Trustees are desirous of establishing a Charitable Trust to be called the UK PDT Charitable Trust, hereinafter called the Trust. They will invite suitable persons to join them in this venture. All will then be know as the Trustees.
The objects of the Trust are to raise funds for the purpose of the relief of sickness and the advancement of education in particular by the provision of grants that will enable the advancement and broadening of the application of Photodynamic Medicine in terms of research, the education of clinicians and the treatment of patients within the United Kingdom.
The Founder Trustees have collected an initial sum of money to be held and applied by them for the intents and purposes expressed in the objects of the Trust.
2: The Founder Trustees intend, by means of appeals for donations and bequests, to raise further sums to be held by them and bestowed by them for the purposes declared in the objects.
Power of the Trustees:
1. To invest the said sum and all monies which may be subscribed or bequeathed, for the purposes expressed and declared, in any investments in which Trustees are authorized by law to invest funds. These investments may be varied as the Founder Trustees may deem expedient.
2. To stand possessed of the aforementioned monies and the income thereof and apply them by way of gifts or loans, with or without interest, for or towards the objects of the Trust.
In exercising this power, the Trustees must not undertake any substantial permanent trading activity and must comply with relevant statutory regulations.
Appointment of Trustees:
The Founder Trustees shall be chosen from the Founding Committee members who agree to become a Trustee, together with others to make up no more than nine Trustees.
There shall be no more than nine (9) Trustees.
